I am an author and journalist who works independently as a writer and editor in Gainesville, FL.

As a journalist, I was a correspondent and producer for both CNN and CBS, where I reported from every country in Latin America. My chapter in the book Alone  Together: Tales of Sisterhood and Solitude in Latin America is a reflection of those experiences. which I expand on in my upcoming memoir: Journalist: Don't Shoot.

I also spent two years in Colombia as a Knight International Journalism Fellow and as a grantee for Transparency International. I am an adjunct professor at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications.  I am fluent in Spanish, thanks to my years living in Puerto Rico, La Isla del Encanto.
